The City Tail Method

Connection
before correction.

Adventure. Behavior. Connection.
Three ideas that shape how we spend our days with dogs.

“The trail is not just a place to burn energy. It’s a classroom for emotional growth.”

Our guiding philosophy
01 / Pay attention

Start with
the individual.

Every dog brings their own experiences, preferences, and ways of communicating. Understanding those differences is the foundation of our work.

We’re interested in how a dog feels as well as what they do: what they approach, where they hesitate, and how they respond to the world around them.

02 / Learn through life

Make room
for choices.

A trail offers changing terrain, scents, sounds, and social situations. It gives dogs opportunities to explore, practice communication, and learn alongside one another.

We see these experiences as part of emotional growth, alongside physical movement.

03 / Build relationships

Let trust
carry through.

Our work connects the trail with everyday life. Coaching helps people understand their dogs. Boarding extends care for dogs we already know.

Across all three, the starting point stays the same: the relationship.
